Hi, I’m Antoine Scherer.

As an ecologist and photographer, I’m conducting a doctoral project centered on rewilding in the Finnish Boreal. What constitutes rewilding in Finnish peatlands, waterways, and forests? What are the best practices for restoring damaged landscapes in the country? How can we develop functional corridors for wildlife to thrive here? Those are the kind of questions I’m trying to answer with this work. My ambition with this website is to combine science, storytelling, and art to disseminate the fascinating rewilding dynamic underway in the Land of a Thousand Lakes.
